Speedgolf USA proudly presents the 2026 New York State Speedgolf Open presented by Strategic Financial Services, returning to Rome Country Club for another year of Speedgolf competition in Central New York.
Rome has been part of the Speedgolf USA landscape since 2016 and has hosted some of the sport’s most significant competitions, including the 2018 United States Speedgolf Championships. In 2026, the New York State Open returns as a streamlined one-day event with 18-hole, 9-hole, and junior options for players of all experience levels.
Whether you’re competing for a state title, looking for a shorter race, or trying Speedgolf for the first time, New York offers a welcoming entry point into the sport and a community with a long history of supporting Speedgolf.
⛳ EVENTS & FORMATS
🏆 18-Hole Open
Member Entry Fee: $80
Competitors complete an 18-hole Speedgolf round, with final scores determined by the combined total of golf strokes plus running time. All competitors play in the same field.
⚡ 9-Hole Open
Member Entry Fee: $40
A shorter-format Speedgolf race ideal for newcomers, recreational players, and experienced competitors looking for a fast 9-hole challenge.
🟢 9-Hole Junior Open
Entry Fee: $15
Designed for athletes under 18, the Junior Open gives young players an opportunity to experience Speedgolf in a fun, supportive, and competitive environment.
⚡ TOURNAMENT FORMAT
All divisions follow the official Speedgolf scoring system:
Score = Golf Strokes + Running Time
Example:
Golf Score: 80
Running Time: 60 minutes
Final Score: 140
The lowest combined score wins.

2026 Membership Requirement
All participants must hold a valid Speedgolf USA membership:
• Non-Member Day Pass: $15
• 2026 Annual Membership: $195
Annual members receive waived daily pass fees for all 2026 events, along with full Speedgolf USA membership benefits.

You don’t need to be an elite golfer or runner to compete. Choose your distance and experience Speedgolf at your own level. Playing FlingGolf? FlingGolfers are welcome to participate in Speedgolf USA events. During registration, simply check “I am playing FlingGolf” at checkout. All participants, including FlingGolfers, must have a valid Speedgolf USA membership. If you are not already an active member, please add either the Annual Membership ticket or the $15 Daily Membership ticket to your order during checkout.
⛳ PRACTICE ROUNDS
Practice rounds will be available during the week of the tournament.
Contact Rome Country Club directly to reserve a practice round and mention that you are competing in the New York State Speedgolf Open.

📏 TOURNAMENT RULES
The 2026 SGUSA Official Rules of Speedgolf will govern play.
• USGA rules apply with the SGUSA modified lost ball/out-of-bounds procedure
• Timing begins at the official tee time and ends at the completion of the final hole
• All-in-one clubs are permitted
• Equipment may not be placed on putting greens
• Players must finish with all equipment carried during the round
Local rules will be distributed during tournament week.
🙌 VOLUNTEERS & SCOREKEEPERS
Players will be supported by volunteer scorekeepers who may:
• Record strokes and time
• Assist with ball spotting
• Help maintain pace and accurate scoring
• Provide on-course support
Players may bring their own scorekeeper, and participants are encouraged to volunteer for another player when possible.
