Speedgolf USA proudly presents the 2026 Missouri Speedgolf Open, a Major Series event returning to the legendary Horton Smith Golf Course in Springfield, Missouri.
One of the longest-running and most celebrated events in American Speedgolf, the Missouri Open attracts elite competitors, amateur players, juniors, and first-time participants from across the country. Hosted by one of the most passionate Speedgolf communities in the world, this two-day championship combines high-level competition with a welcoming atmosphere that has become a hallmark of the event.
Horton Smith Golf Course offers an ideal blend of speed and strategy, creating opportunities for both low scores and fast times. The course also holds a special place in Speedgolf history as the site of a former men's Speedgolf World Record, set by Scott Dawley in 2021 with a score of 107:15 (65 strokes in 42:15).
Whether you're competing for a championship, challenging yourself over 36 holes, or experiencing Speedgolf for the first time, the Missouri Open is one of the premier events on the Speedgolf USA calendar. We are proud to continue our charitable partnership with Honor Flight of the Ozarks.

π 36-Hole Open (Professional Division)
Compete over two 18-hole Speedgolf rounds (36 holes total) across two days. Final scores are determined by the combined total of golf strokes plus running time. The Open Division features elite amateur and professional competitors competing for championship honors and prize money.

Experience the full two-day Speedgolf championship format with category awards based on age and gender.
π€ 9-Hole Team Event (Sunday)
A best ball team competition combining strategy, speed, and camaraderie.
β‘ 9-Hole Open (Monday)
A shorter-format Speedgolf race ideal for both newcomers and experienced competitors.
π’ 9-Hole Junior Division. (Monday)
Designed for athletes under 18, introducing young players to Speedgolf in a fun, supportive, and competitive environment.
All individual divisions follow the official Speedgolf scoring system:
Score = Golf Strokes + Running Time
Example:
Golf Score: 80
Running Time: 60 minutes
Final Score: 140
The lowest combined score wins.
Tee times begin each day at approximately 6:30 AM (weather dependent), with players starting at regular intervals.

β’ Timing begins at your tee time and ends at the finish line

β’ No equipment on greens (1-stroke penalty)
β’ All equipment must cross the finish line with the player
Local rules will be distributed during tournament week.
Each player will be assigned a volunteer scorekeeper responsible for:
β’ Recording strokes and time
β’ Assisting with ball spotting
β’ Providing hydration and support
Players may bring their own scorekeeper. Volunteers are encouraged to register.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE OF LIABILITY, INDEMNIFICATION, AND MEDIA RELEASE AGREEMENT
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY β THIS IS A LEGAL DOCUMENT THAT AFFECTS YOUR RIGHTS
In consideration for being permitted to participate in any Speedgolf USA, LLC (βSGUSAβ) event, activity, practice, clinic, league, demonstration, or related function (collectively, the βEventβ), I agree as follows:
1. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF INHERENT RISKS
I understand that Speedgolf is an athletic endurance sport combining running and golf played on active golf courses and outdoor environments. I acknowledge that participation involves inherent and unpredictable risks that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken by SGUSA.
These risks include, but are not limited to:
β’ Being struck by golf balls or clubs
β’ Collisions with other participants, spectators, carts, or course features
β’ Uneven terrain, holes, slopes, bunkers, water hazards, roots, rocks, pavement, and natural obstacles
β’ Running-related injuries including falls, sprains, fractures, cardiac events, dehydration, and heat illness
β’ Weather exposure including extreme heat, cold, lightning, rain, and poor visibility
β’ Actions or inactions of participants, volunteers, golf course staff, or third parties
β’ Equipment failure or improper use
β’ Delayed or unavailable emergency medical response due to course layout
I UNDERSTAND THESE RISKS MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY, PERMANENT DISABILITY, OR DEATH.
I knowingly and voluntarily assume all inherent risks of participation.
2. EXPRESS RELEASE OF LIABILITY (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE)
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY TEXAS LAW, I RELEASE AND DISCHARGE SPEEDGOLF USA, LLC, ITS OWNERS, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, VOLUNTEERS, SPONSORS, HOST FACILITIES, LANDOWNERS, AND AFFILIATED ORGANIZATIONS (βRELEASED PARTIESβ) FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS FOR INJURY, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING FROM MY PARTICIPATION IN THE EVENT, INCLUDING CLAIMS CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASED PARTIES.
I understand this release applies to both known and unknown risks and applies whether injury occurs before, during, or after the Event.
This release does not apply to gross negligence or willful misconduct where prohibited by law.
3. PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITY AGREEMENT
I agree to:
β’ Follow all course rules, safety instructions, and event procedures
β’ Yield to faster or slower participants when directed
β’ Maintain awareness of other players and shout βFOREβ when appropriate
β’ Not participate while impaired by alcohol, drugs, illness, or unsafe fatigue
β’ Withdraw if I believe conditions are unsafe for me
I understand Speedgolf is a self-paced athletic activity and I am solely responsible for monitoring my physical condition.
4. MEDICAL AUTHORIZATION AND FITNESS TO PARTICIPATE
I certify I am physically capable of participating and have no medical condition that would make participation unusually dangerous.
I authorize emergency medical care if necessary and agree I am financially responsible for any medical treatment.
I agree my personal insurance is primary coverage.
5. INDEMNIFICATION AND HOLD HARMLESS
I agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claim brought by me, my family, or any third party arising out of my participation, including claims alleging injury caused by my actions toward another participant or spectator.
6. VENUE, GOVERNING LAW, AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
Any dispute arising from participation in an SGUSA Event shall be resolved exclusively in Harris County, Texas.
I agree disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration, and I waive the right to a jury trial.
7. MEDIA RELEASE
I grant SGUSA irrevocable permission to use my name, image, likeness, voice, and performance in photographs, video, and promotional materials in any media worldwide without compensation.
8. SEVERABILITY
If any portion of this Agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
9. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF UNDERSTANDING
I HAVE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY.
I UNDERSTAND I AM WAIVING SUBSTANTIAL LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE.
I SIGN THIS AGREEMENT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY.
MINOR PARTICIPANT (UNDER 18)
I am the parent or legal guardian of the minor participant. I consent to participation and agree to indemnify and reimburse the Released Parties for any claims brought by or on behalf of the minor.
If your event is cancelled, we will refund the amount you paid for your tickets (minus order processing, service and delivery fees) using the same payment method used for purchase. If your event is postponed, we will contact you with the new date and time. All Event personnel have the right to refuse entry to any ticket holder for any reason at their discretion. Venue and Talent are subject to change without notice and are not grounds for a refund. Anything promised by the promoter that is unfulfilled is not guaranteed by the seller and is not grounds for a refund.
There are no refunds.
